Clerkhill School pupils recieved certificates after reciting Robert Burns poems

Clerkhill School pupils received certificates after successfully reciting the work of poets including Robert Burns and Sheena Blackhall.

The pupils had two weeks to learn the poems off by heart and they later performed infront of their classmates before prize winners were selected.

The winners from each class then recited their poems infront of an assembly of around 200 people.

Head Teacher, Janet Adie said: “They are amazing. The primary sevens did poems including ‘To a Haggis’ and ‘Tam o’ Shanter’ while the younger ones did poems including ‘The Traffic Jam’.
