New Smartphone app offers emergency advice to public

A new service to help the public cope during emergency situations has been launched by the Scottish Government.

Smartphone users will have information, advice and essential contact details for a wide range of emergency situations available at their fingertips by downloading a free app to their mobile devices.

Transport and Veterans Minister Keith Brown announced the development of the new app during a debate in Parliament today, part of the ‘Ready for Winter?’ week of activities.

Mr Brown said: “This is something that’s important in all emergency situations affecting individuals and communities.”
