Pupils from a Buchan primary school have been raising money for charity.

Primary seven pupils from Maud School organised a coffee morning recently, raising the huge sum of £1520 for Macmillan.

The primary seven class was responsible for all aspects of the event, including designing posters and distributing the leaflets they made.

Commenting, P7 class teacher Mrs Mair said: “We’re a big primary seven class and it was a tremendous effort.

“People were queueing up to come to the coffee morning. Parents and family memebers got involved and there were many generous raffle donations. It was a great community event.”

As part of the event, the primary sevens organised games for other pupils in the school and wrote to companies and parents to ask for their support.

Maud School was Macmillan’s Community Challenge Winner in 2011.
