A LOCAL Pre-School Group is celebrating the announcement that Aberdeenshire Council will be giving them funding from January.

St Kane’s Pre-School, based in New Deer, have been running privately for the past two years, with kind donations from members of the public keeping them going.

The group received the news on March 4, although they have to wait until January to feel the benefits.

Group leader, Eileen Morrice said: “It has at times been hard work continually fundraising but getting this news has made it all worthwhile.

“St Kane’s Pre-School has been running now for 43 years and continues to go from strength to strength.

“We would like to thank everyone for their support. Thanks go to the staff, dedicated committee, parents past and present for supporting and putting in their hard work and dedication to the group, everyone involved with the fundraising and the local community for their support - without you we wouldn’t be where we are today.

“It is fantastic news and a real boost for St Kane’s!”
