Female driver suffers head injury in crash

A FEMALE driver was conveyed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary at the weekend following a late-night crash in Peterhead.

The incident happened at around 11.30pm on Friday when the woman’s Ford Fiesta hit a lamp post and landed on its side on Balmoor Terrace, close to the town’s football ground.

The woman was conveyed by ambulance to ARI with a suspected head injury but it is understood that her injuries were not life-threatening.

A spokesperson for Grampian Police said: “It would appear that the female drive lost control of her vehicle.”
