THE sun shone and the crowds turned out in their hundreds for the annual Peterhead Lifeboat open day.

In excess of £2,000 was raised through the generous community support of the event which brought all the emergency forces together for everyone to see.

Youngsters (and some not so young) enjoyed a go on the remote control model boats, while police dog Drax was no stranger to a pat on the head throughout the day.

In addition to tours of the lifeboat and the various rescue units, there was also plenty of inflatatble fun for the kids, plus a barbecue and lots of refreshments.

Pick up your copy of next week’s Buchanie for lots more pictures.
