Crimond's Got Talent - Egyptians.

Primary 5, 6 and 7 pupils from Crimond School put on a fantastic show recently to raise funds for the school.

The show was organised and run entirely by the pupils of p5 and p6/7 as an enterprise project to raise money towards a trip to Dalguise Activity Centre and for school funds. The children came up with the original idea and have managed to raise over £1200 between two performances.

The children sold the tickets, programmes, raffles and even ran a snack bar which included half time ice creams. The show was attended by around 250 people, with the evening show being a sell out.

The Great Scottish Singers (P1/2 singing Ali Bali) were the winners of the 1.30pm show, while The Outstanding Choir (P4-7 choir members performing an ABBA medley) won the 6.30pm show.

The camera team and backstage presenters filmed all of the auditions, interviewed the acts and their families and filming the show. The school hopes to put together a DVD of the event with backstage footage to sell to pupils and their families.

Commenting, P6/7 class teacher Miss Laura Minto said: “I could not be more proud of what the children have achieved. During this project they have all become more confident as individuals and have taken their roles very seriously, it has been amazing to witness them in action.

“This project has been child centred and fits in perfectly with the Curriculum for Excellence ideals of providing children with skills for life, learning and work.

“The children would like to say a huge thanks to the members of the community

and to the local businesses who supported the show.”

Primary 5 pupil Megan, who was a member of the Costume and Appearance Team, said: “I think Crimond’s Got Talent has made me more confident and everybody has put

a lot of effort into it.”
