PETERHEAD’S Congregational Church saw more than 700 visitors pass through its doors during Scottish Week.

The church held special half-hour services throughout the week, with the first half of the week proving extremely popular with locals and visitors alike.

Rev. James MacMillan said he was “delighted” with the turnout for the services, which included hymns and a sermon.

“It’s been absolutely fantastic,” he said.

Scottish Week Queen Kayleigh Ritchie and princesses Samantha Cowe and Jayne Stephen were among the many who attended the services each day.

The church service was followed by a superb buffet lunch of sausage rolls, sandwiches and home bakes.
