Clerkhill School PSA have come up with a novel way of raising funds without the complication of selling clothes or old bric-a-brac.

The school is looking for donations of all worldwide currency in note or coin form, and any of the older currency such as German Marks, Spanish Pesetas and old UK decimal coins including Ireland, Channel Islands, Scotland, Isle of Man and £5/£2 coins.

Old half or full crowns and silver or brass coloured 3 pence can also be exchanged and donations of old Farthings and Pennies 1d or 1/2d are welcome.

The school can turn old money into a valuable donation and they will also welcome sterling coins.

It is estimated that there is £100 million in old or foreign coins and banknotes across the UK that can be used for good causes so whether you have a connection with Clerkhill School or would just like to help them raise some money, they would be extremely grateful for donations of any old or foreign coins you may have lying about the house.

Clerkhill School are also calling out to local businesses who may like to help, every coin will be very much appreciated.

Donations can be handed into Clerkhill School Office by Friday, May 30.
