Buchanhaven pupils get active at Buchan Meadows Woodland

BUCHANHAVEN School P4 pupils endured the snowy conditions to do their bit for nature on Wednesday morning.
As part of the Buchan Feeling Good Festival and the Active Schools programme, the children visited Buchan Meadows Community Woodland.
They took part in some orienteering exercises, in which they guided each other round a basic cone course and planted some new trees.
In between activites, the children were treated to a healthy break filled with fruit and cereal bars courtesy of the Health Improvement Fund, and enjoyed some marshmallows which they cooked on the fire pit.
Community Woodland Project Officer, Andy Devine, helped them out with the tree planting and said: “They have been here since 9am so that has been two hours of exercise for them, and the weather is not affecting them at all.”
