The churches in Peterhead have started their united studies for Lent, the title for the series being, “This is our story – Journeys of Faith”.
The second of the planned meetings is due to be held this evening, Tuesday, February 19, in Peterhead Salvation Army Hall, Windmill Street, when the subject is “Guided by God’s Law”. The next occasion after that is Tuesday, February 26, when the host fellowship is the Living Waters Community Church at the top of Windmill Street and the subject is “Fed by the Bread of Heaven”.
Each evening starts off at 6.15pm with a bring and share meal. It is realised that there are those who cannot attend then because of their commitments.
However, they will still be very welcome to come to the Bible Study itself which starts at 7pm. All are warmly invited.
Peterhead Methodist Church Sisterhood will meet on Wednesday, February 20, at 7.15pm when the guests are Nick and Liz Wilson of the Living Waters Community Church. All ladies are very welcome.
Deer Parish Church Prayer Group meets on Wednesday, February 20, in Old Deer Church from 6.30 – 7.15pm.
Peterhead St. Andrew’s Parish Church Guild’s next meeting is on Wednesday, February 20, at 7.30pm. Guests for the evening are the Salvation Army Songsters and there will also be a Bring and Buy.
The churches are reminded that we are approaching the World Day of Prayer once again. The actual date for this year is Friday, March 1, and no doubt arrangements are well in hand already to mark this special day.
On Sunday, February 24, in Old Deer Church commencing at 10.30am, a Guide Thinking Day Service will be led by the Rev. Sheila Kirk.
The Sunday School meets also that morning.
Cruden Parish Church Walking Group meets on Wednesday, February 20, at 7.30pm in the hall to plan the 2013 walks. The “Messy Church” meets in Cruden Bay Village Hall at 3.15pm on
Thursday, February 21. All children are welcome but they are required to be accompanied by an adult.
Cruden Parish Church Annual Guide Thinking Day Service is to be held on Sunday, February 24, at 10am.
Cruden Parish Church Guild meets on Monday, February 25, at 7.30pm. The subject is “Food for Thought” and the speaker is Karen Woodhouse.
Peterhead Congregational Church Ladies’ Guild will meet on Monday, February 25, at 7.30pm, when the ladies will be joined by the Cowie Family.
On Thursday, March 14, Buchan East Presbyterial Council has arranged for a meeting to be held in Maud Parish Church at 7.30pm with I. Whyte, General Secretary of the Guild, as the guest speaker.
Peterhead Old Parish Church Senior Ladies Fellowship, to be held on Monday, February 26 is having Karen Garrot ,from the Blind Mission as their guest speaker,All welcome.
A soup and sweet lunch, with all proceeds going to Christian Aid, is to be held in Peterhead Old Parish Church on Saturday, March 9 from 12noon-2pm - tickets £4 or pay at the door.
