It was unfortunate that notice could not be published in time that the friends at St. Drostan’s Episcopal Church, Old Deer, had to cancel their Quiz Night proposed for Saturday, September 22.
Peterhead Methodist Church Sisterhood will meet on Wednesday, September 26, at 7.15pm, when the guest speaker is to be the Rev. Dr. Abi Ngunga, minister of Peterhead St. Andrew’s Church. All ladies are very welcome.
The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be conducted in Cruden Parish Church on Sunday, September 30, the service being led by the Rev. Fred Coutts.
In Old Deer Church on Sunday, September 30, morning worship at 10.30am will be led by the Rev. Sheila Kirk. All are invited and welcome.
The Sunday School meets at that time also and crèche facilities are available during the service. Teas will be served afterwards.
There is to be a service in Fetterangus Church on Sunday, September 30, commencing at 6pm and this will be led by the Rev. Sheila Kirk, the theme being “I am the Good Shepherd”. A musical item is to be provided by Liz and John Slaven. All are welcome and there will be the opportunity afterwards for further fellowship as teas are served.
Peterhead Methodist Church is to be observing Sunday, September 30, as Back to Church Sunday. It is also being the occasion for celebrating the Harvest Festival and this will be featured in both services at 11am and 6pm.
The Peterhead Fishermen’s Mission gives a warm welcome to the Nightcap Service on Sunday, September 30, at 8pm.
The Mission’s Ladies Guild meets on Tuesday, October 2, at 7.15pm.
Peterhead Congregational Church Ladies’ Guild will meet on Monday, October 1, at 7.30pm, with Tom Buchan as the invited guest. Then on Saturday, October 6, the Congregational Church ladies are to be having a Buttery Morning.
On Wednesday, October 3, Deer Parish Church Prayer Group is to meet in Old Deer Church from 6.30-7.15pm.
Peterhead St. Andrew’s Parish Church Guild will meet on Wednesday, October 3, at 7.30pm. The theme for the evening is “The Starfish Project – Missionary Outreach in Africa”.
The Messy Church gathering for families at the Methodist Church, Queen Street, will begin again on Saturday, October 6, from 10am to 12.30pm when, in an informal manner through crafts and worship, there is teaching about God. Meetings are held monthly.
Later that same day at 7pm, in the Methodist Church there is the Social Evening in aid of “Open Doors”, an organisation which helps persecuted Christians worldwide.
The Burnhaven School Choir is to be providing the entertainment and Douglas Erskine will speak as an “Open Doors” representative.
A warm invitation is extended to come and support this very worthy cause for which a freewill offering will be received on the night. All are very welcome and refreshments will be served.
Readers are asked to note the Rag Bag collection which Peterhead St. Andrew’s Church is to be having on Monday, October 15, from 10am to 4pm.
During that time the hall will remain open to receive donations of unwanted linen, clothes, shoes.
