A specialist bomb disposal team was called after a ‘suspect package’ was discovered at Peterhead’s Score facility.

Officers were on the scene for more than two and a half hours before although employees did not need to be evacuated from the site.

A spokesman said: “Police Scotland attended at the premises of Score Europe in Peterhead today following reports of a suspect package.

“Officers have taken possession of the package and investigations are continuing.”

Police Scotland’s area commander Elaine Logue was on the scene andspoke to the Buchanie: “We’d like to thank the staff and management at Score for their cooperation.

“The people of Peterhead were at no risk.”

Investigations are ongoing.
