Investigations are currently underway by Police Scotland following an assault in Peterhead town centre at the weekend.
A 47-year-old male from Peterhead was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following a disturbance outside Mambo’s Nightclub on Queen Street at 3.20am on Sunday, July 27.
The victim suffered head injuries and is meantime in a serious condition in the Aberdeen hospital.
Police closed the street for around 12 hours while they tried to piece together what had happened.
Police officers were also present on the street to prevent anyone gaining access while vital investigations were taking place.
The road closure affected local business, Zanres, which usually opens at 10am.
The fish and chip takeaway, located directly next to Mambo’s nightclub, was forced to delay opening for business until 4.30pm.
On Monday, Police issued a description of a suspect. He has been described as male, 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall and with a slim build. He is thought to be aged in his mid to late 20s and has short cropped brown hair at the back and the sides.
He was wearing a grey fitted t-shirt, blue jeans with cargo style pockets at the side of the legs and white trainers.
Police Scotland has appealed for any individuals who were in the area at the time and who may have witnessed this incident to contact them on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
