Since the start of term, Peterhead Academy Art & Design pupils have been working on a design brief for masks of “Endangered Scottish Animals” as part of Scottish Natural Heritage’s “Discover Scotland’s Wildlife”.
The pupils in teacher, Sushil Mangaonkar’s S1&2 classes used the visual elements to show their ideas, thoughts and feelings in mask design work.
They used line to formulate patterns on the mask and referred to the colour wheel.
The learners also had the chance to get to know about the animals, including their Gaelic names.
The completed masks were all exhibited at the Edinburgh Mela on 31st August & 1st August and received high commendations from Natural Heritage, resulting in prizes being donated by them for five Peterhead Academy pupils.
Congratulations go to all prize winners: Darcie Thain (1C1), Jenna Warrender (1C1), Kayleigh Bruce (2S2), Jordan Durie (2S2), and Sarah Jeffries (2S2).
