FUNDRAISING IDEAS: Pupils Kirsty Leslie and Pauline Mangalile with teacher Wilma McGhee

A COMMITTEE set up in aid of Comic Relief is planning two days of fun in March - all in aid of the charity.

Committee co-ordinator Pauline Mangalile and seven other pupils have already planned a range of activities including guess the sweets in the jar, a raffle, guess the age of the bear, a soup and homebakes lunch for staff and even a dance of PSY’s Gangnam Style.

Local stores will be contacted in hope they will donate some items for the raffle.

Teacher Wilma McGhee said: “For Red Nose Day we originally suggested one fun day, but after speaking to other members of staff we decided Thursday 14th would be for pupils and Friday 15th would be for staff.”

The committee has set a fundraising target of £2,000 and hopes it will reach it over the two days.

The academy will also be selling official red noses.
