Lifeboat support from pupils

As part of their class work associated with the ‘Titanic’, pupils in P5 at St Fergus School visited the Peterhead Lifeboat.

They learned that there are compartments on a lifeboat just like on the Titanic and that 90 people can be rescued at a time even though there are only 10 seats, although normally the crew would contact another lifeboat.

This has helped them with their Health and Wellbeing curriculum as they learned about assessing and managing risk, protecting themselves and others and how to reduce the potential of risk where possible’

They also presented a cheque for £914.30, the proceeds from their Christmas Celebration and Carol Service.
