A series of repair works will take place at Peterhead Leisure and Community Centre from Monday, October 12 on a phased basis.
The heating system serving Peterhead Academy and swimming pool will be repaired during the school holidays to avoid disruption to the school.
Flooring in the swimming pool village changing area is also being replaced.
Head of Lifelong Learning and Leisure John Harding said: “We ask for patience from the local community and visitors to the centre whilst works are completed.
“Scheduling of repair work is in place to avoid minimum disruption to the school, unfortunately this is also in the school holidays so unavoidably has a wider impact, though we will reopen facilities as soon as we can.
“I apologise for any inconvenience while these renovations take place and assure the public that the works will ensure that the facilities are in top shape for all to use as soon as they can.”
There will be a staged re-opening of areas as work is completed.
The games hall, practice hall, coffee bar, Amazone soft play and the Community Theatre will be closed from October 12 for two weeks.
Meanwhile the swimming pool, sauna and steam room and the fitness room will close on October 12 for three to six weeks, but there are plans in place to open the fitness room as soon as is practical.
Active Aberdeenshire members can use alternative facilities available nearby in Fraserburgh (01346 518627) and Ellon (01358 727910).
Learn to swim lessons will continue, up to, and including, Sunday, October 11 and any lessons that have been paid for but are cancelled will be credited on the next set of lessons payments, or a refund arranged.
Payments for lessons commencing after the closure must be paid a week in advance of the pool reopening.
The holiday programme including football, hockey and basketball will be held at Dales Park Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) from Tuesday, October 13 until Thursday, October 15 and Tuesday, October 20 until Thursday, October 22.
