Lara holds Olympic torch for Rotary Club

ELLON Rotary Club was proud of its member Lara Anderson who arrived at the Station Hotel in the town on Wednesday of last week with her Olympic torch.

Lara was chosen by Coca-Cola as one of its bearers to run with the torch last Tuesday on Aberdeen’s North Anderson Drive section of the route.The honour was in recognition of her charity work for the Rotary world-wide organisation.

Lara’s charity involvement has included immunisation for the Rotary projects focusing on the eradication of polio in India, and also building projects in Uganda, Malawi, and Tanzania.

One of her main supporting roles is with “ALEC” - Aberdeenshire Life Education Centre - which provides health and drug education to all nursery and primary school children in the area.
