This year’s Buchan Queen and her two princesses were chosen at the annual glitzy dinner dance hosted by the Britannia Waterside Inn recently.
More than 200 guests attended the evening to witness Kelsey Cook lift the title of Buchan Queen 2013
Danielle McIntosh and Kirsten Fraser were chosen on the night as Buchan Princesses, in what turned out to be one of the closest competitions in the event’s 52-year history.
STV’s Sean Batty and Norman MacLeod along with Original 106 presenter Neil Weightman, radio presenter Yazz and Cheyrl Lawrence of Orchard Studio Productions had the ominous task of selecting the winner from eight very worthy contestants.
This year the ladies were treated not only to a photo session from Philip Stewart Photographics, but also a video diary, which was produced for each contestant by Orchard Studio Productions and shown during the evening The night itself was hosted by Ritchie Grant of Original 106 who told the Buchanie: “On the evening all eight contestants were worthy winners in their own right and we would like to thank all the girls on behalf of Peterhead Scottish Week for taking part.”
This year’s official crowning ceremony takes place on Saturday, July 20 at 2pm at Peterhead’s Drummers Corner.
The crowning will be performed by top scottish comedian and BBC Radio Scotland presenter Fred MacAulay.
The Buchan Queen and her princesses will attend various events during the week-long gala. Event details will appear in the Buchanie as they are confirmed.
