A leading storage and inspection firm is spreading the warmth this festive season by donating branded waterproof jackets to a local day service.

Independent Oilfield Services (IOS), which has a tubular oilfield supply base in Peterhead, made the donation to the Willowbank Centre to show its support for the day service’s drama groups.

The day service plays house to The Trinity Players and The Blue Toon All Stars drama groups, both made up of adults with learning disabilities.

The award winning Trinity Players specialise in putting on performances and workshops for school children, whilst The Blue Toon All Stars devise their own musicals and also includes volunteers from within the community and drama students from Mintlaw Academy.

Both groups are warming up this December to perform at their first outdoor event on Saturday 12, which will include a unique rendition of Razzle Dazzle from Chicago, a powerful solo movement piece and a local take on Petula Clark’s ‘Downtown’.

Morag Skene, Willowbank care assistant, writer and director of both drama groups, said: “We are thrilled the groups now have warm, waterproof jackets to wear for their upcoming outdoor performance. It’s the first time they have been asked to perform outdoors and we were a little worried, however IOS were able to save the day and we are very thankful for that.”

Glynn Geddie, business development manager at IOS, said: “We are more than happy to support the local drama groups and are always very open to helping out within our community. I know our staff are looking forward to the upcoming performance in December and I’m sure both groups will put on a fantastic show.”

IOS is offering its support to the local community, as it is open to providing further sponsorship opportunities to local clubs and groups, demonstrating its active community involvement in Peterhead and the surrounding areas.
