India trip talk for Peterhead Old Parish Church Guild

PETERHEAD Old Parish Church Guild will meet on Wednesday, February 16, at 7.30pm, when the guest speakers, Elizabeth Noble and John William Noble, will be talking about their trip to India.

On Wednesday, February 16, at 7.15pm, the Peterhead Methodist Church Sisterhood will be having a Songs of Praise evening and a Bring and Buy Sale is to be included also. All ladies are very welcome.

Cruden Parish Church choir practice is on Wednesday, February 16, in the hall at 7.30pm. The Walking Group planning meeting is to be held in the hall on Thursday, February 17.

The Blythswood Care collecting vehicle is to be visiting Peterhead and district on Thursday, February 17, to receive donations of items for the charity’s work. It will be located in Focus car park, off Catto Drive, from 9.30am until 12.30pm. Then, after calling at Crimond at 1.15pm, it will be at Fraserburgh Leisure Centre for the rest of the afternoon to 4.30pm. All donations will be received most gratefully.

The annual Guide Thinking Day Service is to be held in Cruden Parish Church on Sunday, February 20, at 10.30am.

With reference to the Cruden Adult Sunday School series of studies on ‘Discovering more about the Bible’, the subject for Sunday, February 20, is ‘The translating of the Bible’.

Cruden Kirk Session meets on Monday, February 21, in the Hall at 7.30pm.

On Sunday, February 20, there is to be a Praise Night in Fetterangus Church at 6pm. The theme will be an imaginary walk round Fetterangus supported by ‘prayer points’. The service will finish with a very short Sacrament of Communion using the Iona Liturgy.

Peterhead Fishermen’s Mission has the regular Night Cap to which all are welcome on Sunday, February 20, at 8pm, when the singing of some fine Gospel hymns of an earlier tradition is much enjoyed. Being the third Sunday of the month, the meeting is shared by the LAC chairman and a guest speaker.

On Saturday, February 19, the Peterhead Congregational Church Ladies’ Guild will be having a Buttery Morning in the church hall.

The next meeting of the Peterhead Old Parish Senior Ladies’ Fellowship is to be in the upstairs hall on Monday, February 21, at 2pm. This is to be a Songs of Praise occasion with Mr and Mrs J. McDonald as special guests.

Peterhead St. Andrew’s Parish Church Guild will welcome the Rev. J. McMillan of Peterhead Congregational Church at their meeting on Wednesday, February 23, at 7.30pm. There is also to be a Bring and Buy that evening.

In aid of the Cruden Church Property Project a ‘Call My Bluff’ is being held in the Kilmarnock Arms Hotel on Friday, February 25, at 7.30pm.

Peterhead Baptist Church Senior Citizens’ Fellowship will meet on Thursday, February 17, at 2.15pm. Guest speakers are to be Forbes and Audrey Nicol from St. Combs. A warm invitation and welcome is extended to both ladies and gentlemen.
