DESPITE objections, plans for the erection of a house on a site at Durie, Clola were given the go-ahead by Buchan area committee members on Tuesday (September 13).
Members heard that seven letters of objections from the six surrounding properties had a number of concerns, stating that the site boundaries are inaccurate and show land which is not in the applicant’s ownership or control; the plot is made to look larger than it is by including land outwith the applicant’s ownership and that a smaller plot will have implications for location of septic tank/soakaway.
They Objectors also claim the area is characterised by a clay soil which does not support use of soakaway and that run-off and excess water from soakaway will flow downhill and damage the foundations of neighbouring property.
They also say development will impact upon road safety in the area and increase traffic on a single track road and that a house will be intrusive in terms of impact on neighbouring houses and would also overlook neighbouring properties.
The application from Mr S. Curtis of West House, Durie, was approved by members.
