Not only has the League of Friends donated thousands of pounds of medical equipment to the Peterhead Health Centre this week, they have also received a significant donation.
On Wednesday, February 26, Sandy Bruce of Well Ops UK Ltd presented the Peterhead branch of the charity a cheque for £1,500.
Mr Bruce said: “We’ve chosen the League of Friends as one of 12 charities to donate £1,500 to.
“It’s a fantastic cause. You never know, we might all need their help some day.”
On the same day members of the League unveiled two new pieces of equipment donated to the health centre.
The League of Friends has invested more than £3,000 in a portable suction machine and an electric bed.
Isabell Penman from the centre said: “The League are just amazing.
“They are always supporting us and their priority is always patient care.”
The suction machine is used to clear a patient’s throat, either during minor surgery or in post-op.
The National Association of League of Hospital Friends was formed back in 1949 with the aim of supplementing the work of the NHS.
