Crimond Pharmacy still open

CRIMOND Pharmacy state that they are open as usual and tell patients not to panic.

A local paper wrongly stated that the pharmacy would close and this has lead to much confusion.

The confusion has arisen because traditionally a year after a pharmacy would open the dispensing doctors would be required to stop dispensing. With the pharmacy now being opened for year the paper had assumed incorrectly that the pharmacy would therefore close.

In Crimond the situation is different and means patients would see no difference as the new premises are still on the health centre site. Meaning the GPs are still actively involved in the service.

The Buchanie has been told that many patients call each day to enquire if the pharmacy is in indeed closing.

A Spokesman for NHS Grampian said: “The confusion comes as areas switch from “dispensing doctors” to traditional pharmacies.
