Staff at Peterhead’s 2ReUse based at Meethill, are very proud of their latest achievement.
The recycling group have recently been awarded gold level at the Scottish Green Apple Environment Awards.
The awards were launched in 1994 by The Green Organisation and have become well established as one of the most popular environmental campaigns in the world.
2ReUse project manager, Brenda Campbell, told us: “This is a huge achievement. It was a shock to receive the Golden Apple.”
Brenda has expressed thanks to all members of the public who have donated various items to the store, such as household items, furniture, rags, bric-a-brac, books and electrical items.
She also thanked the staff and volunteers at 2ReUse Recycling Limited past and present.
“Without the commitment and support from the public, staff and volunteer members this award would not have been possible,” she added.
2ReUse can be found on Berryden Road which is off Meethill Road.
The project is all about recycling while diverting waste from landfill. It recycles all household items, rags, bric-a-brac, books, electrical items etc.
The 2ReUse manager is assisted by an administration officer and shop assistant as well as a group of volunteers for the 2ReUse Project on behalf of Peterhead Projects Limited.
All money raised from the sale of goods goes back into the community through our various projects.
The shop has a wide range of furniture and household items for sale alongside a vast array of bric-a-brac and books.
It also sells a range of fashion items from children to adults including handbags, shoes and jewellery.
