THERE was excellent support for the recent art competition hosted by the Peterhead and Buchan Tourism Initiative at Old Deer’s Kemp Hall.

Organisers said it was once again a very successful event due mostly to the commitment and hard work of the adults and children who entered the event.

PBTI chairman Derek Jennings told the Buchanie: “We would like to thank Viscountess Candida Petersham of Crimonmogate for the very difficult task of choosing the winners.

“We would also like to thank the artists, the members of the tourism group, the Kemp Hall Old Deer hall committee and the many visitors who came to view the works of art.

“Again we had a very good response from local artists and schools with more than 140 works of art of a very high standard submitted.

“We are now looking for sponsors for the main event and the individual categories next year.”
