Leading North-east recruitment agency Genesis Personnel is set to strengthen its services to the offshore sector following the acquisition of Northbey Power Recruitment.

The employment agency, which has offices in Peterhead and Aberdeen, successfully acquired the specialist offshore recruitment company in a six-figure deal.

Genesis Personnel was launched in 1975 and provides onshore and offshore recruitment solutions to clients across the world in a range of sectors including marine, industrial, commercial, driving, legal and oil & gas. The firm has an international client base providing permanent, temporary and contract-based personnel.

Genesis Personnel managing director Wendy Marr said: “We have taken the opportunity to add Northbey as a new division of Genesis Personnel as we felt its services in providing offshore personnel perfectly complimented our existing recruitment specialist skills.”

Northbey already provide personnel on an ad-hoc and permanent basis for semi-submersibles, jack-ups, platforms and drill ships to the world’s largest drilling contractors, covering international and North Sea waters.

Wendy continued: “Naturally we are all absolutely thrilled about the addition of Northbey and the increased expertise and versatility this now allows us to offer to all our customers.”

As part of the acquisition, Northbey’s two members of staff will join the Genesis team.

Claire Dingwall will take on role of senior recruitment consultant and Michelle Reilly will take on the role of assistant recruitment consultant. Wendy said: “We very much welcome the expertise of Claire and Michelle, who bring with them a wealth of experience and knowledge in the offshore sector.”
