A PETERHEAD man has raised £700 for charity in memory of his mum who died of cancer last year.
Stuart Slessor (22), of Whitehall Place, was sponsored by friends and family to spend a month with bright pink hair.
He divided the money raised between Aberdeen-based charity Moonlight Prowl and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Both charities provide support to cancer sufferers and their families, with Moonlight Prowl raising money through an annual sponsored walk for Aberdeen Royal Infirmary’s breast cancer centre.
Stuart’s mum Lynn (45), died last year after after an aggressive form of breast cancer spread to her lungs.
Stuart now lives with his uncle while his sister Sarah (20) remains with her dad.
Stuart’s grandmother Pat Smith said: “The nurses at Macmillan did a lot for Lynn while she was fighing cancer. Stuart wanted to give something back to thank them for all their help.”
