A Peterhead charity gig held last month has resulted in five worthy causes each receiving £1,000.
The fundraising night held at the Palace Hotel on Saturday, February 22 managed to collect a total of £5,600 which was later split five ways.
Event organiser Janice Duncan said: “I split the money five ways to CLAN Cancer Support, Cancer Research UK, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Macmillan Nurses and to Yorkhill Children’s ICU Unit in Glasgow as they have been taking care of a little girl whose father originates from Peterhead and they have family up here.
“I have asked them to direct the cheque to the ward that she has been in as the family have done nothing but sing their praises for the way they have looked after her.”
Various raffle prizes were won on the night including a brand new iPad which was generously donated by Michael Buchan of Sustaine PD. 378 and Surmount PD. 368, and his wife Linda.
Entertainment for the night was provided by local singers Holly Duncan and Nicole Christie, Gerry Duncan, Graham Podlesny, band Danielson and John Milne of Starlite Disco.
250 tickets were sold for the event and Janice added: “I want to thank everyone who helped me and everyone who attended and a big thank you to all the singers who did me proud!
“I would also like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated raffle prizes, it always amazes me how generous everyone is.”
A number of local organisations donated fantastic prizes including Ocean Way, Macduff (£200), Holland House Electrical (Golfing Day for four people), Duncan and Todd Opticions (Ray-Ban sunglasses) Trump International Golf Club (Champagne afternoon tea for two) and Aberdeen Football Club (signed goodies).
£100 cash prizes were also donated by Envirohire (Andrea Ellinson), Star Capital, London (Jacqui Sim/Stephen), JC Environmental and Peter Stevenson Cars.
