The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called to respond to reports of a house fire in Peterhead’s North Street in the early hours of this morning.

Control received the call at 2.32am and dispatched two appliances from Peterhead and one from Maud to the scene.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus used a main jet and a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.

There was no one inside the property and no casualties.

The fire was brought under control by 3.33am and the last appliance left the scene at 4.18am.

A joint investigation into the cause of the fire will now take place involving SFRS and Police Scotland.
