ANNA Ritchie School recently benefited as one of the chosen charities to receive a cash donation from the Safety Awards Scheme in Association with ExxonMobil.

The school was paid a visit by ExxonMobil’s Fiona Allardyce last week and received a bumper cheque for £2,400.

Headteacher Ishbel Cruickshank explained that the school was beginning to look into saving for a new bus.

“This is a fantastic and very generous donation, the money will be a great kick start to us saving for a new minibus, we can apply for funding but the school have to pay a percentage themselves, so a sum of money like this from ExxonMobil will help kickstart the fundraising.”

The school had to give up one of their buses after it failed an MOT test and was going to cost too much to repair.

Mrs Cruickshank continued: “Only having one bus at the moment means the children are limited as to how many activities they can partake in.

“Whether it be for horse riding, swimming trips or to take a trip to the shops, the bus is always on the go so hopefully we can raise some funds to get a new one.”

Fiona added: “Anna Ritchie School was chosen by Sage as it is a really lovely, local school helping children in the area with additional support needs.”
