Staff at Peterhead’s McDonald’s restaurant teamed up with Pick Up Peterhead recently to help clean up the area round the Ring Road Industrial Estate.

Earlier this mnth a team of 18 volunteers, made up of nine McDonald’s employees and nine volunteers from PUP, managed to clear 22 bags of rubbish from the bypass on South Road and the Invernettie Roundabout.

The crew worked hard to remove many abandoned road signs and larger pieces of litter. Their efforts were praised by residents who bumped into the team while they were out on their litter pick.

Craig Duncan, local McDonald’s franchisee and owner of the restaurant in Peterhead, said: “I was really proud to see everyone come together and help tidy up the local area in Peterhead. I

“t’s a key priority of ours to ensure that the community remains free of litter and an enjoyable place to live, work and visit.

“As a business we understand the important role that we play in making the area abetter place, and we really enjoyed working with Pick Up Peterhead in our united aim of keeping Peterhead clean and tidy.”
