A Peterhead photographer has caught an unusual bird on camera during a visit to a Highland caravan park.

Peter Lewis, a member of Craigewan Photographic Club, was told about the strange-looking bird from local twitchers at Granton-on-Spey after they spotted it close to the town’s caravan park.

Mr Lewis put out some bait to lure the bird and manged to capture some wonderful shots of the black and white blackbird.

White feathers on blackbirds are quite common, but Mr Lewis said that he had never seen one so white.

“I go up to Grantown quite a lot for my wildlife photographey and my pal told me he had seen a black and white bird with an orange beak around the caravan park,” he said.

“I was really surprised when I saw it to find that it was a blackbird.”
