A Longside man set himself a target to study for a Masters Degree, raise £20,000 for charity and improve his overall level of fitness.

Jamie Marr (42), has now successfully achieved all three of those targets as he took to the stage to collecte his MBA degree from Robert Gordon University earlier this month.

Jamie said: “Having never attended college or university on leaving school, I always felt that I had not tested myself academically and always wondered whether I was capable of studying for a degree.

“Four years on I successfully completed the MBA programme and led an internal work committee in 2015 to raise in excess of £20,000 for Alzheimers, a total likely to increase to £30,000 in 2016.

“While the fitness challenge has been harder, I was able to run eight x 10km over eigh tdays to raise money for the Brain Tumour charity in May this year.

“Over the three-and-a-half years, I enjoyed the overall experience, particularly the many students and lecturers that I met, some of which will remain friends for years to come,” he added.

Jamie now hopes to try and improve his overall fitness, but more importantly will be spending more time his wife Wendy and daughter Olivia as he tries to make up for lost time.
