BIG-HEARTED pupils from Strichen School recently handed over a bumper cheque to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Students from P4/5 and P6 handed over the £980.69 cheque to charity agent Mrs Geddes after raising funds at a coffee morning back in September.

Mrs Geddes told the classes about the work the charity does and thanked them for all their hard work and generosity in organising the event.

Headteacher Andrew Jenkins explained: “Over the past five years, pupils, with help from teachers Mrs Veitch and Miss Clark, have raised more than £3,000 for the charity at their ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Mornings’.

“The children really enjoy taking part in the events and also learn a lot about the importance of supporting others who need help.”
