Almost 40 children associated with the village of St. Fergus undertook a massive fundraising campaign recently.
The children are bidding to raise cash to refurbish the village hall.
Vital repairs are required in order to keep the village hall open for use, and although local oil/gas companies have been approached and relevant grants applied for, St Fergus Village Community Association still has to secure around £150,000 to ensure the hall’s future.
The first fundraiser took the form of a 3km walk along Peterhead’s Lido seafront Eager children aged from just a few months to 12 years were pushed in buggies, walked and some even ran the distance to raise £350 of essential funding.
Luckily the weather remained perfect for the event and everyone finished the distance.
Wide smiles were evident at the end of the day and a massive thanks has been expressed to all who got involved in what will only be the start of many fun fundraising events to secure the future of the hall.
