Sports Day at Academy

The sun came out for Peterhead Academy pupils and staff on Thursday, June 27 - just in time for Sports Day at Catto Park.

As well as sporting events, pupils and staff could take part in fun races including welly throwing and a three-legged race.

Other fun activities available included a bucking bronco, sumo suit fights and a bungee run, as well as a range of stalls from hook the duck to a lollypop tree. Amongst all the fun was the serious competitions from high jump to relay runs.

The winning house was Buchan, scoring 397 points, followed by Arbuthnot (297) and Grange (293).

A special prizegiving was held at the end of the event with pupils Dean Melvile and Patryk Wisniewski winning trophies.

Dean won the Peter Scott Endeavour Award and Patryk won the Junior Sports Champion Award.

Head Teacher, Evan Ritchie thanked everyone for all their hard work and for making the event a success.
