The event was very popular with the teachers, with pupils preferring to go outwith the school for lunch.

The funds raised by the event will go towards the Family Block at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.

Money will then be spent improving the overnight accomodation for parents and family members of children in the hospital.

Mrs Minion said: “Morrisons gave us 12 free french bread sticks, Asda gave us a £10 voucher to go towards the vegetables for the soup and Strachans donated the paper cups and napkins and without them it would have been hard to hold the event.

“It has been very much a community effort.”

Sixth year pupils and staff made homebakes for the Soup & Sweet and there was also a range of Archie Foundation merchandise on offer with all proceeds going towards improving the Children’s Hospital.
