ONE Buchanhaven pupil is set to see his hand-drawn design all over the Buchan area as it has been declared the winner of a new anti-litter poster competition.

Six local schools took part and 182 entries were received but Samuel Banks was chosen as the overall winner.

Asda are supporting the campaign and gave Samuel an Easter Egg and £30 gift voucher to spend in store for winning.

Community warden, Ian Kennedy, said: “We visited the schools with Theresa Ritchie from Pick-Up Peterhead!.

“There is a need for this scheme due to the problem of litter in the area. Hopefully by doing this it will educate not only the children but adults too, that there is no need to drop litter.

“The poster is eye-catching, it stands out and it simply gets the message across.

“We would like to thank Asda, Theresa and her team, Buchan Community Safety Group and Grampian Police for their support in the initiative.”
