MINTLAW Academy rector Linda Evans has left the school to take up the same role at Inverurie Academy.

Ms Evans has been at Mintlaw since August 2009 and has made a lasting impression.

This, however, has not been her first appearance at Mintlaw. In 1984 she worked here as a chemistry teacher and later, the Principal Teacher of chemistry.

The rector’s position will be filled temporarily by depute rector Mrs Robertson while the position is advertised.

It is not only Ms Evans that has left an impression on Mintlaw Academy but Mintlaw has also left a lasting impression on Ms Evans.

During our interview she highly praised the staff as being “a wonderful group of people to work with”.

The pupils of the school are also regarded by her as being “hard working and very friendly”.

She also really enjoyed receiving letters of praise from places pupils had visited saying that they were a joy to have and would be welcomed back.

Everyone associated with Mintlaw Academy wishes Ms Evans the best of luck at Inverurie Academy.
