Secondary pupils across Aberdeenshire are being given the chance to explore an exciting range of job options in the creative industries.

Pupils will be able to meet artists and designers, have a go at using cutting-edge technology and come up with their own artistic ideas in the Creative Edge Market Place events next month.

A special afternoon session is being held at Peterhead Academy on Tuesday from 3.40pm to 6pm for parents and families.

The Creative Edge project aims to support and inspire young people to develop their entrepreneurial skills for life and help them understand the jobs available in the creative industry sector.

The scheme is being supported through Aberdeenshire Council’s creative placemaking programme Be Part of the Picture and focuses on developing the creative sector’s skills and contribution to the local economy.

Artists and designers will spend time with pupils to show them the wide range of options available for a career in the creative industry sector.

Pupils will have the chance to try out the latest technologies including a 3D printer, Rayjet Laser Engraver, vinyl cutting machine and heat press, digital embroidery machine and desktop electronics suite.
