Primary 1 to 7 pupils in the Eco Comittee at Kininmonth Primary School are aiming for a Green Flag from the Eco Schools Scotland Scheme.

As part of this, the 12 children involved are finding the best way to keep the school playground tidy and also, looking at ways to Reduce, Reuse & Recycle in school and at home.

To tie in with the two, they thought it would be fun to design their own “Bin Families” using clean litter and recycled materials donated by parents (such as boxes, cartons, bottles, jewellery, etc.)

The finished “people” were given names and imaginary lives and introduced to the rest of the school at an assembly.

It was a fun project, which produced a lot of imaginative ideas.
