Stuartfield woman Lisa Stuart was presented with the Rotary Endeavour Award at the recent North East Scotland College Fraserburgh graduation ceremony.

Lisa (32), was nominated for the Rotary award due to the high level of commitment and enthusiasm she demonstrated during her HND, alongside her outstanding results.

As a busy mum of two, Lisa has juggled the demands of her course with managing her family.

She also organised her own work placement during the course at the Family Centre and Help Hub (FCHH) at HMP &YOI Grampian in Peterhead.

Her lecturer said: This voluntary placement did not come to an end after the initial agreed length of time - such has been the impact of Lisa in this role that the prison has asked her to say on after her course and provide further support to the FCHH.”

Lisa is now starting a social work degtree at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.

Commenting on her success, Lisa said: “I was really surprised when I found out I was being presented with the award.

“Studying at college has really helped me prepare for university - I’m really enjoying the course at RGU.”
