Peterhead’s Anna Ritchie School has officially opened its new Inclsuive Mobility Playground.

Retired head teacher Ishbel Cruickshank returned to the school to do the honours of cutting the ribbon at the special event.

School chair, Cindy Buchan, along with the Parent Council has worked tirelessly together to finish the project Ishbel had hoped to have completed before her retirement.

Cindy told the Buchanie: “We’d like to give a huge thanks to all the companies in our community who helped us to complete this project along with a grant from the Lottery Awards for All.”

Company representatives, staff and pupils and their families were invited along for the special opening. The school’s popular fayre was held the same day and everyone was kept extremely busy serving teas and helping in the hall with games tables for the pupils. Local stall holders had tables in the hall and it is hoped that everyone who went along to support the school enjoyed themselves, won raffles and had a wonderful morning.

Thanks were expressed to the teachers, classroom assistants, bus escorts and the new school cook for their help.
