Mintlaw Academy welcomes new headteacher

Mintlaw Academy welcomed a new headteacher in the form of Alan Horberry last week.

Mr Horberry, who has worked as a teacher in Aberdeenshire for more than 20 years, joins the school from his previous position as depute headteacher at Meldrum Academy.

He said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to work with the outstanding staff at Mintlaw Academy and am very much looking forward to getting to know the pupils and parents.

“Mintlaw Academy has a reputation for setting high standards for young people and offering them unrivalled care, support and learning. I aim to continue with that tradition.

“These are exciting times in schools and I look forward to further developing the opportunities offered by the Curriculum for Excellence in preparing Mintlaw Academy’s young people for work, life and learning in the future.”
