Dales Park Nursery in Peterhead has been given a Pride of Buchan award for receiving an outstanding Care Inspectorate report.
The Care Inspectorate carried out an unannounced inspection of the facility in November last year and they gave the Peterhead nursery a glowing report.
The nursery was given four excellent 6 grades for its quality of care and support, quality of environment, quality of staffing and quality of management and leadership.
A 6 grade is the highest achievement possible and as the nursery received four of these, the Care Inspectorate did not have to give any future recommendations.
In a report submitted after the visit, the care inspectorate said the nursery “provides a bright, welcoming and happy nursery for children, where they are able to make friends and grow in confidence” and that it also provides “a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment for young children”.
Speaking to the Buchanie Peterhead South and Cruden councillor Stuart Pratt explained why the nursery was chosen to receive a Pride of Buchan award: “It really was an excellent report and in all of my years as a councillor I haven’t seen any school or nursery that hasn’t had any recommendations.
“It is an amazing achievement and I would like to say well done to the staff for their commitment, it is something to be proud of.”
Dales Park head teacher Scott Anderson said: “We are delighted to receive the Pride of Buchan award and it’s great that the staff are able to get recognition for all of their hard work and dedication.”
Councillor Pratt was joined on his visit to the school on Tuesday, March 29, by fellow councillor Anne Allan.
