The Crichie Mart donated £230 to the Anna Ritchie School Parent Council last week to aid the purchase of new playground equipment.
Rhoda Young went along to the school on Monday, July 14 to present the money to Parent Council chair Milly Lorenz and vice-chair Cindy Buchan.
The Parent Council are currently raising money to fund the second phase of the school’s playground refurbishment.
They need to raise £21,000 for the new equipment that includes a Pod Swing, Wheelchair Swing and Wheelchair Accessible Roundabout.
Rhoda said: “The money was raised by charging for carrier bags and donations from customers.
“I would like to thank all of our customers for their help and support towards this fantastic cause.”
The first phase of the playground renovation was completed in July 2013 and the group hope the new equipment will be installed by the end of the year.
On the new equipment Milly said: “It will be good for children like Jake to get out and play.
“Quite a lot of the children at Anna Ritchie School use wheelchairs and can’t access the play area here at the moment.
“We are very thankful for any donations as we want to meet the childrens’ needs.”
School pupil Jake Buchan said: “It will feel magical for the rest of the children.”
