College set for successful careers event

North East Scotland College will be holding its annual careers showcase event on Thursday, February 5, at its Fraserburgh campus.

With just under three weeks to go, confirmed exhibitors include representatives from oil and gas, engineering, manufacturing, construction and the maritime industries.

This free event is aimed at school pupils, college students and individuals who are evaluating career paths and thinking about what the next move should be.

Visitors are invited to come along and find out about employment opportunities, modern apprenticeships and education routes and courses. Doors open from 6pm to 8pm.

Paul Sherrington Depute Principal, North East Scotland College, says: “This is an ideal opportunity for North East companies to meet and share their dynamic recruitment needs with the emerging talent coming from schools, colleges and the workforce in the area.

“This event is growing in popularity with over 800 visitors attending last year.”

The Scottish Maritime Academy is joining forces with leading shipping companies and maritime training providers to promote and recruit for the Merchant Navy Officer Trainee “Cadet” Programme, at its Fraserburgh Campus. which the Academy has recently gained approval to run.
