Buchan pupils get into the festive spirit

Pupils from across Peterhead and the Buchan area entertained their friends and family recently by taking part in their school Christmas concerts.

Meethill School told the story of The Magical Christmas Jigsaw, with pupils taking turns to find each piece and fit them together.

The youngsters took to the stage in their classes and sang songs including Jingle Bells and Ding Dong Merrily on High.

Money collected at this year’s concert was donated to the Scottish Cot Death Trust.

Longside School held their concert on Tuesday, December 9, and the hall was packed with proud parents and family members.

The whole school took part in the concert that told the story of Mary and Joseph who were looking for a place to stay.

They tried the Bethlehem Inn, the Holiday Inn and the Premier Inn, but were told that the only bed available was in a stable.

The concert ended with all of the pupils on stage singing We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and the audience were invited to join in too.

Longside School’s P1 and P2 pupils were treated to a Christmas Party on Thursday, December 18.

The children were dressed in their party outfits and enjoyed singing and playing a number of games incuding The Farmer in the Dell, Pass the Parcel, Corners and In and Out the Dusty Bluebells.

Finally, Burnhaven School held their Christmas Concert at Peterhead Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 16.

The school pupils dressed in their festive costumes and sang some Christmas songs, while others decided to show off their dancing skills!
